How much mulch do you need?

What you need to know:1. Size of area in square feet (length x width)

2. Desired depth (new mulch is normally 3-4 inches deep)

1″ = .08

2″ = .17

3″ = .25

4″ = . 33

5″ = .42

The formula is:

Square feet x depth / 27

Example 1: 100 square feet @ 3″ depth

100 x .25 / 27 = .93 yards of mulch

Example 2: 500 square feet @ 2″ depth:

500 x .17 / 27 = 3.15 yards

1 yard of mulch is approximately:

13.75 – 2 Cubic Foot Bags

9.25 3 Cubic Foot Bags
